Job summary

Molded Dimensions Group in Port Washington, WI, seeks an engineer with 2–3 years of manufacturing experience to own projects, drive improvements, and support new product launches in a fast-paced production environment.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will work with operations, quality, and production teams to improve performance, troubleshoot issues, and lead process validation, standard work, and PPAP preparation.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and project-management skills.
  • Hands-on shop floor experience with problem solving.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MES systems and data integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma and cost-reduction initiatives across production.
  • Support New Product Development, PPAPs, and first article inspections.
  • Provide daily engineering support to production teams and troubleshoot issues.
  • Maintain standard work instructions and process documentation.
  • Generate KPI reports to support decision-making.

Join our team and play a key role in driving operational excellence and supporting our growing business.Position SummaryThis is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with 2-3 years of manufacturing experience who wants to take ownership of projects, drive improvements, and contribute to new product launches in a fast-paced production environment.Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will work closely with operations, quality, engineering, and production teams to improve manufacturing performance, troubleshoot issues, and support the successful launch of new products.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Improvement & Operational ExcellenceIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product qualityLead and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cost-reduction initiativesAnalyze production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunitiesDevelop and maintain standard work instructions and process documentationProduction Support & TroubleshootingProvide daily engineering support to production teamsTroubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actionsSupport process capability studies, equipment validation, and cycle time improvementsNew Product Development (NPD)Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to launch new productsAssist in process design, tooling development, and manufacturing feasibility assessmentsSupport PPAPs, first article inspections, and production trialsEnsure smooth product launches with minimal disruptionSystems & Data ManagementUtilize ERP system - IQMS preferred, to manage production data, BOMs, routings, and inventory accuracyMaintain and improve ERP/MES data integrityGenerate reports and analyze KPIs to support decision-makingSupport system enhancements and integration with manufacturing processesCross-Functional Collaboration & ComplianceParticipate in cross-functional teams to support plant initiativesEnsure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standardsAssist with capital projects including equipment specification, installation, and validationPerform additional duties as needed to support business objectivesRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fieldExperience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)Familiarity with IQMS or similar ERP systemsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and project management skills in a manufacturing environmentHands-on approach with the ability to work directly on the shop floorAbility to work independently and collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customersExcellent communication skills across all levels of the organizationPreferred QualificationsExperience in rubber, urethane, or related manufacturing environmentsSix Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)Knowledge of material science and regulatory/compliance standardsExperience with statistical analysis and process control toolsWhy Join Molded Dimensions?Opportunity to make a direct impact on manufacturing performance and innovationCollaborative, team-oriented environmentCommitment to continuous improvement and growthCompetitive compensation and benefits packageAbout Molded Dimensions Group:Molded Dimensions Group is a trusted leader in the manufacturing of custom-molded rubber and cast polyurethane components.
