About the Role
We're partnering with a growing aerospace-focused manufacturer in Paris, IL to hire a Manufacturing Engineer. In this role, you'll be responsible for driving new product introduction initiatives, developing manufacturing processes, and implementing production tooling that supports operational excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative engineer who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, leading new product launches, and collaborating across departments to improve quality, efficiency, and productivity. You'll play a key role in transforming concepts into successful production-ready solutions while making a measurable impact on manufacturing performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and implement manufacturing processes and production methods for new and existing products
- Lead manufacturing activities related to new product introductions (NPI) and production launches
- Coordinate project timelines, establish goals, train team members, and evaluate project outcomes
- Design, develop, test, source, and justify tooling, equipment, and machinery to support manufacturing operations
- Analyze products and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for cost reduction, quality improvements, and increased efficiency
- Collaborate with engineering, quality, operations, and production teams to ensure successful project execution
- Represent manufacturing on cross-functional teams and provide technical expertise throughout the product lifecycle
- Monitor manufacturing performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, and safety
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and manufacturing standards
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement activities throughout the facility
- Ensure projects are completed on time while meeting quality, cost, and performance objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, product development, or new product introduction (NPI)
- Experience supporting aerospace, sheet metal fabrication, metal manufacturing, or related industries preferred
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience developing manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production workflows
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong computer proficiency and experience with engineering and manufacturing systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Self-starter with a hands-on approach to solving manufacturing challenges
Preferred Skills
- Experience in aerospace, sheet metal fabrication, or related industries
Pay range and compensation package
Pay: $80,000 a year
