ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role leads manufacturing-related projects through comprehensive planning and execution, ensuring timely and on-budget completion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Researches, designs, and develops manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, tooling, and equipment, to enhance operational performance.
- Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, designing equipment and workspace layouts for maximum efficiency.
- Leads the manufacturing aspects of new product launches, including establishing production processes, tooling, fixtures, and all assembly information.
- Ensures all manufacturing projects and change activities align with and meet the Operations department's requirements.
- Initiates and implements continuous improvement initiatives for both manufacturing processes and product designs.
- Executes change activities through CR/CN (Change Request/Change Notice) systems to effectively support production needs.
- Collaborates with Engineering to design specialized test equipment to support Product Development and Process Design initiatives.
- Conducts in-depth product/process analysis and troubleshooting to drive cost reduction, quality improvement, and enhanced efficiency.
- Determines product specifications and collaborates with vendors for the purchase of necessary equipment, materials, or parts, evaluating them against quality standards.
- Provides management with critical data on production times and costs, and proactively communicates manufacturing capabilities and schedules to facilitate seamless production.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
2-4 years of experience as an engineer in a Manufacturing environment required.
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in Engineering or related field required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in a full-featured 3D CAD package such as Pro-E(preferred), SolidWorks or equivalent.
- Experience writing processes and work instructions for a manufacturing environment.
