Job summary

Arnold Magnetic Technologies in Ogallala, Nebraska, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to develop and improve manufacturing processes, write routings, and help transition new products into production. You will lead Kaizen initiatives, validate processes, and collaborate with design and prototyping teams.

A bachelor's in relevant field and 5+ years of experience are required, with strong communication skills and Lean manufacturing expertise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • LEAN manufacturing experience required.
  • Experience with PFMEA, IQ/OQ/PQ and process validation.
  • CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred.
  • Strong project management and initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Write routings and manufacturing instructions using standard engineering practices.
  • Coordinate transition of new products into production.
  • Write appropriation requests and prepare quotes.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
  • Evaluate drawings, routings, specs and documents.
  • Design and procure tools/equipment.
  • Process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions and standard work.
  • Support prototyping activities in new product development.
  • Evaluate and solve production problems.
  • Coordinate maintenance operations and shop floor activities.
  • Identify, plan and lead Kaizen initiatives for process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Purpose

Develops and improves manufacturing processed by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Using manufacturing engineering practices, responsible for writing routings/manufacturing instructions.
  • Coordinate the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena.
  • Write appropriation requests and prepare quotes.
  • Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
  • Evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specs and other documents.
  • Design and procure tools/equipment.
  • Process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions and standard work.
  • Support prototyping activities of new product development.
  • Evaluate and solve production problems.
  • Coordinate maintenance operations, including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes.
  • Identify, plan and lead Kaizen initiatives that lead to sustainable process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5+ years' Manufacturing Engineer experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required LEAN manufacturing experience.
  • Experience/knowledge with process and equipment validation, PFMEA , IQ/OQ/PQ, etc.
  • CAD experience/knowledge. Solidworks preferred.
  • Candidate must possess good project management skills and initiative in taking on and completing projects.
  • Candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
Working conditions
  • May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals. NOTE: All safety precautions will be used.
  • Plant wide climate control and air conditioning
  • Could work in areas with excessive noise. NOTE: Ear protection available.
Physical Requirements
  • Could require intermittent and long periods of sitting and/or standing.
  • Required to do repetitive work.
  • Periodic lifting of materials not to exceed 50 pounds.
  • Includes frequent walking, bending, kneeling, stopping, crawling, and crouching.
