Job description

The Manufacturing Engineer will own daily production and process performance of the digital seal assembly lines at our TydenBrooks Digital operations. This role will drive the manual assembly lines to world-class OEE and yield, own, and continuously improve the in-line inspection stations, and lead the assembly team directly while coaching a durable team-lead player. The Manufacturing Engineer will work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and supply chain, turning what the floor learns into process improvements and product feedback. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer will identify automation opportunities and generate business cases to further improve production.

  • Directly lead and schedule the assembly team, driving daily production performance and standard-work adherence.
  • Coach and certify team leads capable of running a shift unsupervised.
  • Author and maintain SOPs for all assembly operations and train operators to them.
  • Lead Lean training and continuous-improvement education across the assembly team.
Quality & Zero-Defect Execution
  • Drive first-pass yield and in-line inspection escape rate on an improving trajectory toward world-class targets.
  • Own, build, and continuously improve the in-line inspection stations, including probing systems, continuity checks, and final inspection.
  • Create and implement PFMEA improvements and control plans for the assembly process.
Production Performance & On-Time Delivery
  • Meet on-time delivery targets based on internal schedule dates and update lead times as needed.
  • Drive line OEE (Availability × Performance × Quality) to a world-class threshold.
  • Measure and track production performance (OEE, FPY, escape rate, and OTD) with dashboards in Power BI and Epicor.
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Capture floor learnings and feed structured process improvements and product feedback to engineering.
  • Design and build the unique assembly fixtures each product requires.
  • Once a product reaches stable production, identify, evaluate, and business-case automation and semi-automation opportunities, and implement approved projects.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years of manufacturing or process engineering experience in an assembly environment.
  • Direct floor experience supervising assembly personnel, coaching operators, creating SOPs, and running daily production.
  • Experience implementing lean manufacturing – cycle-time analysis, line balancing, waste elimination, and DMAIC-driven continuous improvement.
  • Experience creating and implementing PFMEA improvements and control plans.
  • Experience measuring and tracking production performance (OEE, FPY, escape route, OTD).
  • Strong technical writing skills; ability to develop clear SPOs, work instructions, and reports.
  • Experience with ERP and quality management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification with a track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience creating production dashboards with Power BI and Epicor or a comparable ERP.
  • Experience proactively identifying continuous improvement and automation opportunities and building business-case justifications with ROI calculations.
  • Experience implementing capital expenditure projects.
  • Experience generating make-cost input to make-vs-buy decisions on new products.
  • Demonstrated experience driving floor safety improvements and delivering safety training.
  • Lean implementation and plant re-arrangement hands-on experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. may be required.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required in designated production areas.
