Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Offer input on designs for manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts.
  • Design sequence of operations and specify fabrication procedures for tools and equipment.
  • Create and maintain work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Verify quality conformance to drawings and specifications.
  • Adapt machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Inspect and verify machinery performance.
  • Support SPC-enabled manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering on design concepts and specs.
  • Ensure processes comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Plan and release purchase orders to secure inventory.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D as voice of manufacturing.
  • Guide and implement engineering changes for assigned projects.
  • Resolve discrepancies in receiving and invoicing; track metrics.
  • Prepare risk buys for engineering changes.
  • Balance materials for engineering changes.
  • Maintain flexible schedule as needed.
  • Lead small teams to achieve goals within timeframes.

A Manufacturing Engineer, Designs, develops, improves and ensures effective application of product-specific manufacturing processes. Contributes to all aspects of manufacturing process design, including plant layout, tool design, material selection, machinery controls and installation of capital equipment. Supports product / project operations by continuously improving quality, safety, flow of materials and process efficiency. Evaluates processes, procedures, equipment capacity and capability and layout and recommends steps to ensure process improvements

  • Offers input on designs for manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts.

  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment.
  • Creates and maintains work instructions and manufacturing specifications.
  • Verifies quality control conformance to drawings and specifications.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • Inspects and verifies machinery performance.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control.
  • Works with engineering on design concepts and specification requirements.
  • Ensures processes and procedures comply with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Purchases and tracks materials required for new products and production run trials.
  • Plans and releases purchase orders to secure inventory as needed.
  • Willing to work cross functionally with R&D personnel to help refine product design as the voice of manufacturing.
  • Helps guide and implement engineering changes related to their assigned projects.
  • Resolves receiving and invoice discrepancies and manages applicable metrics within the job scope.
  • Prepare risk buy analysis for implementation of engineering changes.
  • Makes recommendations for using up and balancing materials for engineering changes.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule based on business needs.
  • Capability to lead and motivate small teams to accomplish goals with a targeted time frame.
  • BA/BS degree (Engineering preferred) and 0-4 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent education and experience.
  • Skills in designing workstation and production layouts and experience in assembly tooling design arepreferred.
  • Excellent technical and business English skills (Written and spoken).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
  • Must live within a commutable distance to the North Canton Facility as this role is in person.
  • Computer skills not limited to Microsoft office suite, Teamcenter, NX, & Oracle.
  • Attention to detail and capability to setup processes that require technical precision.
  • Capability to work at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, electric drivers, and general light assembly processing equipment.
  • Ability to present to groups of people, including small to medium-size audiences with poise and clarity.
  • Must have the ability to Multitask and prioritize work responsibilities
