Job summary

The Right Staff, a leading staffing firm, is partnering with an established manufacturing organization to identify a Manufacturing Engineer who will support production, optimize processes, and introduce new products to improve overall manufacturing performance.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working on the production floor, analyzing processes, and collaborating across departments. 100% onsite in Minneapolis, MN with a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

  • 3–7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other CI methodologies.
  • Experience with new product introductions, process development, tooling, fixtures, and process validation.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, work cells, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Conduct workflow, time, and capacity analyses to improve throughput and resource utilization.
  • Create standardized work instructions, visual aids, routings, and other manufacturing documentation.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support to production, troubleshooting issues and implementing practical solutions.
  • Lead and support Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and support corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
  • Partner with Engineering on new product development to ensure manufacturability and successful production launches.
  • Develop, test, and validate processes for new products and equipment.
  • Create and maintain technical drawings and documentation using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and optimization.
  • Design fixtures, jigs, and other manufacturing aids to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to resolve operational challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to production employees as needed.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with ISO 9001 and revision control requirements.
