Job summary

RealTruck is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Massillon, OH to collaborate with production, quality, maintenance and design engineering to ensure efficient fiberglass product manufacturing.

You will implement new products into the manufacturing environment, apply lean principles, drive continuous improvement initiatives, create process standardization, and focus on process improvements, enabling quality and throughput gains.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2+ years hands-on manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles.
  • Experience with quality system planning and certification (IATF, ISO & TS16949).
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green/Black belt is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze production data and identify opportunities to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
  • Development of work processes to ensure proper assembly and quality objectives through work instructions and training.
  • Perform capacity analysis, manufacturing process design, line layout design for existing and new processes, and develop better tools or systems.
  • Participate in procurement, installation, and runoff of new equipment processes.
  • Provide daily engineering support to production operations.
  • Collaborate with supervision and operators to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate, provide input, and participate in specification, design, build, development, and launch of new products.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation in support of IATF certification.

Description

Position Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with production, quality, maintenance, and design engineering to ensure efficient manufacturing of fiberglass products. This role will be responsible for implementing new products into the manufacturing environment, applying lean manufacturing principles, driving continuous improvement initiatives, creating process standardization, and focusing on process improvements.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field required.
  • 2+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering required.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing Principles and Techniques.
  • Experience with quality system planning and certification, such as IATF, ISO & TS16949.
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green/Black belt is a plus.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
  • Knowledge of fiberglass molding processes is a plus
  • Experience with process validation and production launch activities
  • Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies
  • Proficiency with Solidworks 3D modeling software
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to problem solve through 8D approach.
  • General knowledge of GD&T
