Overview
This position will report to the President and will be responsible for the assessment of contract requirements and the development of manufacturing planning which will meet customer requirements in a cost effective and competitive fashion in a modern machine shop contract manufacturer setting.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development of manufacturing methods, non-standard tool selection and documented manufacturing processes.
- Analyze and correct manufacturing problems while working on continuous productivity improvements.
- Work with area supervisors to optimize the set-up process and reduce overall set-up and cycle time.
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes, to identify variables and factors that influence efficiencies and non-conformances.
- Generate drawings, process sheets and travelers necessary for manufacturing.
- Provide CAD support for CAM activity.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace.
- Perform any other duties as requested.

Skills, Education and Experience
- Must possess 5 years of experience in a related engineering field.
- Strong technical knowledge of metal working and plating processes.
- Must have a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications and inspection instructions and determine product conformance based on such documents.
- Strong process engineering skills including: work piece control concepts, tolerance stacking, datum controls, and fixturing concepts.
- Knowledgeable of in-process inspection. Able to use & interpret precision measuring devices.
- Self-starter, able to work independently as well as part of a multi-disciplined team.
- Must be able to interact and communicate with coworkers at all levels of the organization with respect and dignity.
