Job summary

Tank Holding Corporation, a leading manufacturer of rotationally molded poly and welded steel bulk storage and material handling products in North America, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer.

You will design and improve manufacturing processes, lead lean initiatives, develop work instructions, and support safety and quality programs. CAD experience (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) and robotics exposure are preferred; this permanent role is based in Lincoln, NE.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem solving and attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work across teams and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities with Operations and data-driven observations.
  • Develop and improve work instructions, work centers, and tooling.
  • Troubleshoot issues and drive root-cause analyses.
  • Standardize work instructions and routings across facilities.
  • Collaborate on quality plans and ensure product conformance.
  • Lead engineering projects from conception to implementation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations.

Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer focuses on continually improving and optimizing production methods, ensuring cost-effective manufacturing solutions, maintaining quality and safety standards, and driving improvement to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Regional Manufacturing Responsibilities
  • Work with the Operations team to identify improvement opportunities. Opportunities should be supported by visual observations and data.
  • Create and improve work instructions, work centers, and work to reduce work content through automation and innovation.
  • Help Operations troubleshoot issues and root cause.
  • Share successes and areas for improvement through the business.
  • Process Development and Improvement:
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes for rotational molding operations.
  • Analyze and optimize existing processes to enhance safety, efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Technical Support:
  • Provide technical support to the production team for troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Review and revise bills of materials and routings to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other facilities to standardize work instructions and routings across similar products.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that processes result in products that meet quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to develop and implement quality control plans.
  • Monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and implement improvements.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage engineering projects from conception through implementation.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Participate in safety audits and implement corrective actions to address hazards.
  • Promote a culture of safety within the manufacturing team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other engineering tools.
  • Experience with automation and robotics in manufacturing.
