Job summary

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of statistical analysis. Additional skills in Lean manufacturing are advantageous. This role requires strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET).
  • Proficient in 2D AutoCAD; 3D CAD experience is a plus.
  • Lean manufacturing experience/certification is a plus.

Lifetime Products Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Mascot (Knoxville) Tennessee. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for improving manufacturing processes through Lean principles and recommending equipment for the blow molding production and logistics departments on all shifts as needed. You will be part of an energetic group of professionals in a fast‑paced, state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing environment. Must be self‑motivated, proactive, organized and have excellent communication skills, as well as a good attitude regarding teamwork and working well with all team members.

Essential Functions
  • Meet physical, visual, and dexterity requirements necessary to perform each position or rotation in each production process
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time on a hard surface
  • Ability to timely perform each rotation or step in the production process sufficient to meet required cycle or production times, as modified from time to time
  • Ability to perform repetitive work
  • Ability to accept direction and communicate in a cooperative and respectful manner with supervisors and co‑workers
  • Meet attendance / punctuality requirements
  • Identify and report quality defects and raw material flaws
  • Able to identify, report, and avoid unsafe working conditions
  • Comply with Lifetime Product's policies prohibiting unlawful discrimination and harassment
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Working closely with production, logistics, maintenance and processing teams.
  • Evaluating production floor layouts.
  • Analyzing material flow.
  • Creating and maintaining routings and costing.
  • Developing processes to ensure efficiency.
  • Identifying equipment needs.
  • Troubleshooting current production equipment.
  • Deploying new products.
  • Any other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET)
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical analysis, time studies, and manufacturing cost.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as routine reports and correspondence, safety rules, procedure manuals, and general business documents.
  • Proficient computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping and working knowledge of Microsoft Office which includes Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD; 3D CAD experience is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in front of groups and work in a team environment.
  • Lean manufacturing experience/certification is a plus.
