Job summary

April Quest is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer for a 6-month contract in Northwest Iowa within an aerospace manufacturing environment. You will advance manufacturing readiness, process planning, and production optimization to support new and existing products.

Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace/advanced manufacturing environments.
• Background in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Knowledge of Lean, Kaizen and continuous improvement.
• Experience with time studies, cycle-time analysis and labor modelling.
• Experience with production planning, DFM/DFA and line balancing.

Responsibilities

• Support industrialization and production readiness of aerospace products.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, routings and operation sequences.
• Conduct time studies, cycle-time analysis and labor modelling.
• Identify production constraints and develop capacity and capability plans.
• Improve factory layouts, material flow, workstation design and line balancing.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing on DFM/DFA and production planning.
• Support introduction of new tooling, equipment, automation and manufacturing technology.
• Apply Lean, Kaizen and continuous-improvement methodologies.
• Use production data to identify bottlenecks, reduce waste and increase throughput.
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain.

Are you an experienced Industrial Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer looking for a contract where you can make an immediate impact?

We're supporting a leading aerospace manufacturer in the Northwest Iowa area that is investing heavily in its manufacturing capability, and we're looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer / Manufacturing Engineer to join the team on an initial 6-month contract.

You'll work within a complex aerospace manufacturing environment, helping improve how new and existing products move through production - from manufacturing readiness and process planning through to capacity, flow, cycle-time and production optimization.

What you'll be working on

• Supporting the industrialization and production readiness of aerospace products
• Developing and improving manufacturing processes, routings and operation sequences
• Conducting time studies, cycle-time analysis and labor modelling
• Identifying production constraints and developing capacity and capability plans
• Improving factory layouts, material flow, workstation design and line balancing
• Working with Engineering and Manufacturing teams on DFM/DFA and production planning

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have strong experience within aerospace, space, defense or another complex advanced-manufacturing environment, with a background covering areas such as:

Industrial Engineering | Manufacturing Engineering | Industrialization | NPI | Capacity Planning | Time Studies | Line Balancing | Process Flow | Cycle-Time Reduction | DFM/DFA | Lean Manufacturing | Manufacturing Readiness

Experience within composites manufacturing would be particularly valuable, although strong industrial engineering experience from a similarly complex aerospace manufacturing environment is also of interest.
