Therm-x of California, a leading temperature and control systems manufacturer, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for the Heater & Sensors division. You will support production, troubleshooting, process documentation, and quality compliance to meet customer requirements.

The role focuses on lean initiatives, NPI readiness, and transfer of processes to other facilities.

Formación

• BS in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical or equivalent).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, Inventor).
• Drafting experience in CAD (Solid Works, AutoCAD Inventor) is highly desirable.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, blue prints and electrical schematics.
• Experience with manufacturing process qualifications, DOE, SPC, and failure analysis.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• 6+ years in low volume high variety manufacturing environment.
• Experience in sensors, electrical assemblies or heating products preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical support to production personnel for troubleshooting manufacturing, assembly, and testing issues.
• Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, OMS, and SOPs.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, yield, and cost.
• Assist NPI and manufacturing readiness, including transfers to other facilities.
• Perform process validation and qualification testing to meet customer specs.
• Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and improve reliability.
• Write technical reports and engineering documentation as required.
• Develop lean processes with emphasis on quality and efficiency.
• Monitor equipment utilization using company systems data.
• Evaluate production and NPI parts with DFM in mind.

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes for the Heater & Sensors division. This role supports production, process optimization, troubleshooting, and technical writing to ensure product quality and compliance with customer requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to;

• Provide technical support to production personnel in troubleshooting manufacturing, assembly, and testing issues.
• Develop, review, and maintain manufacturing work instructions, Operational Method Sheets (OMS), and standard operating procedures.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives focused on improving process efficiency, product quality, yield, and cost reduction.
• Support new product introduction (NPI), manufacturing readiness, and product transfers from engineering development to production, including transfers to other manufacturing facilities.
• Perform process validation and qualification testing to ensure products meet customer specifications and engineering requirements.
• Analyze manufacturing data, identify process trends, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
• Apply statistical analysis and Six Sigma principles using tools such as JMP or equivalent software.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve product reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and presentations as required.
• Develop efficient lean manufacturing processes with an emphasis on quality and efficiency.
• Monitor and improve equipment utilization using data collected by company systems.
• Evaluate production and NPI parts with DFM in mind by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, soliciting observations from operators
• Specify tooling or equipment required to manufacture product per customer requirements within budgeted cost and lead time
• Work with CNC programmers, cutting tool suppliers and machine operators to optimize machining processes and tooling
• Write clear, concise documentation of OMS (Operational Method Sheets) and procedures
• Provide technical assistance on projects supporting the manufacturing divisions.
• Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Determine root cause of defects and nonconformance of processes.
• Interface with suppliers, subcontractors, and contract manufacturers as needed
• Spend time observing and gathering feedback how current processes are working and report back to management your findings.

Desired skills and knowledge;

• BS in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electro-Mechanical or equivalent)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, Project, Inventor)
• Drafting experience in CAD highly desirable. (Solid Works, AutoCAD Inventor)
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, blue prints and electrical schematics
• Read bill of materials and identify all components specified
• Self-motivated, requiring minimum supervision.
• Over 6 years of experience in low volume high variety manufacturing environment.
• Experience in sensors, electrical assemblies, heating products, semiconductor equipment, or related industries is preferred.
• Experience with manufacturing process qualifications, DOE, statistical process control (SPC), and failure analysis.
• Experience developing manufacturing fixtures, test setups, and production tooling.
