Job summary

Axelon Services Corporation seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for 2nd shift in Greenville, SC. This 12-month onsite contract will focus on CNC programming for large 5-axis machinery, with strong emphasis on NX CAM, Vericut validation, and Renishaw probing.

You will lead process development, support machinists, and drive improvements in safety, quality, cost, and delivery while operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of experience with graphical-based CAM System CNC Programming.
  • Siemens NX CAM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Program, process development, and shop support for large VTL, VBM, Gantry 5-axis, and vertical multi-purpose turn/grind machines up to 2.5m.
  • Generate and maintain CNC programs utilizing NX-CAM or other software, including multi-axis milling, turning, grinding, and/or EDM.
  • Verify new CNC programs using Vericut before shop floor release.
  • Incorporate on-machine probing using Renishaw cycles for part and process validation.
  • Create programs following standards and qualified machining parameters.
  • Provide CNC-related support to M.E. and operator training during new/rebuilt machine startup or process improvements.
  • Provide daily operator support in CNC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Support and implement tooling & fixturing requirements associated with CNC machine tools.
  • Generate and support workstation instructions for CNC-related issues.
  • Initiate and lead process improvement projects to improve safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Provide effective communication to appropriate team members when needed.
  • Work effectively as an individual and in a team-based environment in a matrixed organization.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while embracing and driving positive change.

Manufacturing Engineer

Pay Rate: $63.53 per hour, W2

Summary
  • Location: Greenville, SC
  • Duration: 12 Month Contract

Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with graphical-based CAM System CNC Programming. Siemens NX CAM experience preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience creating 5-axis CNC programs using a CAM (preferably NX) system.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with high-level machine tool controls, including sub-routine (macro), Renishaw probing routine, and variable-based programming, as well as CLM (closed loop machining).
  • Significant "hands-on" background as a machinist, with the ability to personally set up and prove out complex first-piece programs.
  • A track record of managing tight tolerances on large-format equipment where part deflection, work hardening, and thermal stability are critical factors.
  • Extensive experience machining nickel-based superalloys common in Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) or Aerospace industry.
  • Strong problem-solving and organization skills, with above-average shop math skills in geometry and trigonometry.
  • Experience using Vericut (preferred) or other CNC verification/machine simulation software.
  • Strong familiarity with multiple machine controls including Fanuc, Haas, Okuma, & Siemens.
  • Demonstrated proficiency interpreting drawing requirements.
  • Ability to multi-task and productively manage multiple projects concurrently.
