Job summary

Loft Orbital, a space systems company, seeks a mid-level Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production capabilities and ensure the delivery of high-quality satellite systems. You will design processes, lead cross-functional initiatives, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in aerospace or high-tech environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations (AS9100, IPC, NASA/ECSS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Green or Black Belt Certification.
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques.
  • Previous experience as a technician building spacecraft.

Are you excited about optimizing manufacturing processes in the aerospace industry? If so, this is the perfect role for you! Loft Orbital is seeking a mid-level Manufacturing Engineer to enhance our production capabilities and ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality satellite systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and optimize manufacturing processes for satellite components and systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing strategies and plans
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and develop corrective actions
  • Support production teams with technical guidance and troubleshooting
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in aerospace or high-tech environments
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC Machining, hand-soldering, harness fabrication) and foundational knowledge of engineering concepts, including but not limited to: kinetics/dynamics, fluid mechanics, power systems, and thermodynamics.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and regulations (e.g., AS9100, IPC, NASA and/or ECSS)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset
  • Green or Black Belt Certification
  • Experience with project management tools and techniques
  • Previous experience as a technician building spacecraft
