Job summary

A leading engineering company in Eastlake, Ohio, is seeking a skilled professional in the machining and welding environment. The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in a technical field and have over 3 years of experience related to machining processes. Responsibilities include analyzing design changes, conducting tests, and using CAD/CAM software to generate CNC programs. Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional position related to machining processes.
  • Demonstrates ability to complete major and complex assignments or parts of larger assignments.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems, and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes or interprets design or process changes in a complex detailed manner.
  • Recommends and/or conducts tests requiring selection and adaptation of critical test equipment.
  • Designs and/or modifies forge dies and accompanying tooling.
  • Utilizes CAD/CAM software to generate CNC programs.
  • Provides plant-wide analytical problem solving and process troubleshooting support.

Will work with unique or will established procedures in a machining & Welding environment. Will apply proven technical methods to assignments. Is involved with long-term thinking and planning for improvement. Applies experience and knowledge outside areas of expertise. May be assisted by lower level technicians and have frequent contact with professionals and others in the establishment. Develops thoughts and ideas into engineered solutions with guidance from supervisor or other engineers. Effectively participates in a team setting to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Will analyzes or interpret design or process changes in a complex detailed manner (DFMEA, PFMEA)
  • Recommends and/or conducts tests requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures.
  • Designs and/or modifies forge dies and accompanying tooling to optimize for productivity, tooling life, and raw materials usage
  • Utilizes CAD/CAM software to generate CNC programs to produce tooling
  • May justify and procure capital equipment.
  • Interacts with others within and external in an advanced manner.
  • Represents company at meetings with customers or at professional societies and committees
  • Advises others in company how to solve process related problems; interfaces with other relevant departments of company
  • Makes significant contribution to the training of maintenance personnel, technicians, engineering co-ops or entry-level engineers. Independently assist other technicians. May check the routine work of other technicians.
  • Provides plant-wide analytical problem solving and process troubleshooting support.
  • Trains engineers, technicians and non-technical associates.
  • Supports quoting of in-plant manufacturing costs.
  • Acts as a site resource for technical questions related to processes and/or product-lines.
  • Communicates progress through updates and meetings.
Position Requirements

Education: BS degree in a technical field plus appropriate continuous training.

Experience: 3+ years of experience in a professional position related to Machining processes.

Skills/Knowledge: Demonstrates ability to complete major and complex assignments or parts of larger assignments. Advanced problem solving and decision making abilities. Good oral and excellent written communication. Demonstrates proficient communication, programming and troubleshooting skills. Strong abilities in the use of moderately complex technical tools and lab equipment and instrumentation (Equipment may vary based on department). Manages multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent computer and typical office software skills. Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical systems and PLC systems.
