Job summary

MAPP Technologies in Joplin, MO seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop, implement, and improve aerospace manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.

You will ensure production meets quality, safety, cost, and regulatory requirements while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence. Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing).
  • Experience with AS9102/PPAP and first article procedures.
  • At least 3 years as a manufacturing engineer in aerospace, power, automotive, or related industries.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in teams or independently.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and plans CAD layouts including machine tool setup and materials handling.
  • Plans operation sequences and develops spec procedures for fabrication.
  • Adapts designs to factory conditions and improves production methods.
  • Collaborates with Quality, Operations, and Customer Service on root cause analysis.
  • Develops manufacturing processes subject to SPC and applies statistical methods.
  • Provides engineering guidance on design concepts and specs to optimize equipment use.

Description
  • Designs and plans CAD layout including machine tool / equipment setup, assembly and materials handling.
  • Plans the sequence of operations and develops specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions and aerospace industry requirements. Improves production methods, determines manufacturing capacity, and sets up production schedules. May assist in developing time and cost estimates. Works closely with Operations Management and shop floor associates in this task.
  • Collaborates with Quality, Operations, and Customer Service in root cause analysis and corrective action as well as process yield improvement.
  • Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that can be subject to statistical process control and implements statistical methods where applicable.
  • Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in AS9102/ PPAP and related first article procedures.
  • 3 years experience as a manufacturing engineer in aerospace, power generation, automotive or a related industry. Working familiarity with Profit Key and/or CATIA and/or Cadkey/Key Creator is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work in a team and as an individual contributor.
