Description
- Designs and plans CAD layout including machine tool / equipment setup, assembly and materials handling.
- Plans the sequence of operations and develops specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions and aerospace industry requirements. Improves production methods, determines manufacturing capacity, and sets up production schedules. May assist in developing time and cost estimates. Works closely with Operations Management and shop floor associates in this task.
- Collaborates with Quality, Operations, and Customer Service in root cause analysis and corrective action as well as process yield improvement.
- Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
- Develops manufacturing processes that can be subject to statistical process control and implements statistical methods where applicable.
- Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- Experience in AS9102/ PPAP and related first article procedures.
- 3 years experience as a manufacturing engineer in aerospace, power generation, automotive or a related industry. Working familiarity with Profit Key and/or CATIA and/or Cadkey/Key Creator is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual contributor.
