Job summary

A leading IT staffing firm in South Carolina is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer III to provide technical leadership for production teams. The ideal candidate will drive improvements in product quality, ensure regulatory compliance, and support Lean manufacturing initiatives. A B.S. in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, along with experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, is required. This role offers an opportunity to lead critical processes that support production efficiency and safety compliance.

  • Monitor and improve productivity while meeting customer commitments.
  • Troubleshoot production and packaging equipment.

Job Description
  • The Manufacturing Engineer III provides technical leadership for the production teams.
  • Responsibilities include providing documentation and floor support associated with safety, manufacturing and quality methods, tooling, and equipment.
  • Aggressively initiate new processes and methods that will improve safety, reduce product cost and or improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive improved product quality by identifying manufacturing issues, developing cost-effective solutions, and overseeing successful implementation into production.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance through Validation & Verification. Responsible for determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria, execution and final analysis and acceptance.
  • Work with production to resolve manufacturing and quality problems related to methods, processes, tooling, equipment and product design.
  • Participate in new product introductions through process layout, tool development, and new equipment.
  • Develop new process and workstation designs to reduce cycle time and support the lean manufacturing initiative.
  • Monitor and improve productivity, while ensuring all customer commitments are met in a timely, quality and cost-conscious manner.
  • Troubleshoot production and packaging equipment.
  • Specify and expedite planned maintenance routines on all production equipment and systems.
  • Participate on the weekly cycle counts.
  • Co-ordination of manufacturing releases.
  • Develop production tools and databases.
  • Lead Compliance, as well as Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals.
  • Driving LEAN manufacturing implementation.
  • Provide safe processes that comply with all local and federal regulations.
  • Assure that corrective action is taken to resolve observed safety concerns in all areas.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering or related technical degree.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineer / Production Engineer.
  • Preferred skills - Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Quality Engineering.
