Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated seeks an experienced manufacturing engineer to develop and maintain processes for infrared lens production, partnering with Design Engineering to launch lens products, estimate costs, and improve tooling. The role operates within ISO 9001:2015 and Global Trade Compliance, maintaining documentation in office, lab, and manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in related technical discipline
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Basic competence with SolidWorks or another mechanical design software
  • Lean/5S training and experience
  • Ability to develop assembly process documentation
  • Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, often for half of the workday
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects, often up to 50 pounds

  • Development and improvement of processes for production of infrared lenses
  • Create, review, and update assembly and test instructions and checklists meeting all regulatory and internal standards
  • Evaluate product material & production defects and work corrective action with Quality
  • Address out of flow material and support Production and Quality Manager
  • Continuously improve processes, methods, equipment, tooling and training
  • Cooperate with Equipment Maintenance and various vendors to optimize equipment and maintain productivity
  • Train production technicians in new processes and intermittently audit established processes
  • Engage with the mechanical/tooling design team to implement production improving devices
  • Justify, specify, and procure new equipment as required to support development and production programs
  • Implement Lean/5S manufacturing principals and techniques to maintain an environment of continuous improvement
  • Work with the Engineering team to ensure that accurate specifications are used for product assessment and validation
  • Environmental testing of opto-mechanical systems using thermal chambers and vibration

Job Description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining manufacturing processes, methods, and procedures for parts, assemblies, and finished products. You will partner with Design Engineering to launch new lens products, estimate manufacturing costs and labor standards, and recommend tooling and process improvements. Working within ISO 9001:2015 and Global Trade Compliance requirements, you will maintain manufacturing documentation and reporting systems. This role offers a dynamic mix of creativity and technical problem-solving in office, laboratory, and manufacturing environments.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • Experience with imaging optical design principles

  • Experience with Infra optical systems and radiometry

Salary Range

$96,600.00-$128,800.000


The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
