Job summary

Rust Belt Recruiting in Berlin Center, OH, seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to lead feasibility studies, define process sequences, and drive continuous improvement on a fast-growing shop floor.

You will work closely with engineering and production teams, review RFQs and drawings, implement ISO 9001/AS9100 quality practices, and help scale operations for new programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to read GD&T and interpret 3D CAD models.
• Familiarity with CNC milling/turning, wire EDM, grinding, stamping.
• Knowledge of CMM inspection tools and calibration procedures.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Manufacturing Engineer

Shift: 1st Shift (Full-Time, On-Site)

Salary: $30 - $40/hr with unlimited opportunity for rapid growth

Who we are

We are a precision tool-and-die and custom machining manufacturer located in Berlin Center, OH, serving commercial, industrial, defense, and government sectors. Operating out of a modern production facility, our growing team produces custom tooling, performs die repairs, and manufactures precision components. Driven by rapid expansion and new program opportunities, we are hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to lead technical feasibility, build quality systems, and support key manufacturing initiatives.

Manufacturing Engineer Role

The Manufacturing Engineer manages manufacturing feasibility, project quoting, quality systems, and program development. This position bridges technical requirements with shop floor execution to support scaling operations and process improvement.

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities

• Review incoming RFQs, technical drawings, GD&T specifications, and 3D CAD models for manufacturability and process feasibility
• Define manufacturing strategies, process sequences, tooling, fixturing, and inspection plans for custom parts and assemblies
• Validate time and material estimates against engineering judgment and floor capabilities
• Track and manage jobs within a digital workflow from initial quote through production and delivery
• Serve as the technical communication bridge between shop floor personnel and external customer contacts
• Develop and maintain quality management policies, work instructions, and procedures for ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards
• Oversee quality control activities, including CMM operation, gauge calibration, and First Article Inspection reporting
• Support federal grant proposals and R&D pipelines by evaluating technical releases and coordinating project tasks

Manufacturing Engineer Reporting Relationships

• This position reports directly to Executive Leadership and works in close daily collaboration with the Production Manager and Technical Manager. This position currently has no direct reports.

About You

• Possess a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on machining experience
• Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and 3D CAD models
• Maintain familiarity with machining processes including CNC milling, turning, wire EDM, surface grinding, and metal stamping
• Possess working knowledge of CMM inspection tools, calibration systems, and quality control procedures
• Demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills to manage multiple priorities
• Work comfortably within a digital‑first shop floor environment using modern job‑tracking software
• Communicate clearly and professionally with internal shop teams, leadership, and customer representatives
• Meet U.S. Person requirements (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident) per ITAR regulations
