Job summary

Actalent in Beloit, WI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design, implement, and improve manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, quality, and safety across production lines.

You will collaborate with engineering and production teams, lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean and Six Sigma, support new product introductions, and apply CAD tools to layout tooling and processes in a modern, safety-focused facility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments and production equipment.
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analyses and implement improvements.
  • Experience using CAD for process design, tooling, and layouts.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts.

Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer designs, implements, and improves manufacturing processes to enhance production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety. This role connects engineering and production teams to ensure optimal use of equipment, materials, and labor. The Manufacturing Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives, supports new product, equipment, and capability introductions, and resolves technical issues related to manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop manufacturing processes that improve production efficiency, product quality, and workplace safety.
  • Implement and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure consistent, reliable, and cost-effective production.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to ensure optimal use of equipment, materials, and labor.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support the introduction of new products, equipment, and capabilities into the manufacturing environment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on manufacturing issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Use CAD software to support process design, tooling, fixtures, and equipment layouts.
  • Monitor and refine manufacturing processes to reduce waste, improve throughput, and maintain high product quality.
  • Ensure that manufacturing processes and equipment align with safety and quality standards.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
  • Experience working with CAD software.
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements.
  • Practical understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and tools.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
  • Strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing operations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience applying lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and improve flow.
  • Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies for process optimization and defect reduction.
  • Background in process improvement and continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development for complex products such as tanks or trailers.
  • Ability to support new product and equipment introductions in a growing manufacturing environment.
  • Interest in working with cutting-edge manufacturing technology in a modern facility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Beloit, WI.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $120000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
