Job summary

Stefanini North America and APAC seeks a Prototype Build Engineer to oversee all prototype build activities, developing build plans based on vehicle specs and coordinating purchasing and development timing. You will lead multiple teams to ensure program deliverables are met and resolve issues impacting build quality, design, or manufacturing processes.

The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong mechanical engineering foundation, leadership, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical/Aero/Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
• Fluency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Comfort presenting to all levels and preparing presentations.
• Ability to manage multiple programs and report status to management.
• Formula SAE or automotive internship experience preferred for entry level.

• Own prototype build planning and execution from concept to delivery.
• Coordinate purchasing and track development against program timing.

Job description

The Prototype Build Engineer will be responsible for managing all prototype build activities including developing and communicating build plans based on vehicle specifications, coordinating purchasing, tracking development, and program timing for parts. In addition, this individual will be responsible for leading multiple teams to ensure all program deliverables are met and any issues affecting build quality, engineering design, manufacturing process, and timing are resolved. The Prototype Build Engineer must have the ability to direct issue resolution at all levels.

Basic Qualification

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical/Aero/Industrial Engineering
• Basic vehicle build process knowledge
• Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
• Strong leadership and excellent communication skills
• Must be comfortable with preparing presentations and presenting to all levels
• Strong self-starter able to manage multiple programs and communicate status to management
• Formula SAE experience or relevant automotive internship experience is preferred for entry level candidates

Preferred

• Mechanical Engineering degree is preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in automotive, aerospace fields
