Job summary

Western Diversified Plastics is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive assembly methods for automotive electrical components and collaborate with equipment vendors to specify and commission manufacturing systems. You will plan plant layouts, ensure utility readiness, and partner with Quality to address non-conforming products while pursuing continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology, 3+ years in automotive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology.
• Strong CAD skills and lean manufacturing knowledge.
• Experience with PFMEA, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Define assembly methods for automotive electrical components and perform testing/inspections.
• Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to specify and commission manufacturing equipment.
• Plan plant layouts and ensure utility readiness for new equipment.
• Partner with Quality and Manufacturing teams to address non-conforming products and implement solutions.
• Identify and execute Continuous Improvement initiatives.
• Develop and maintain PFMEAs, Process Flow Diagrams and Packaging Plans.
• Create standardized work instructions and operator aids.
• Design and build tools, fixtures, and assembly aids.
• Support additional tasks as assigned by the ME Manager.
