  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • U.S. citizen required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manufacturing cost estimates across materials, parts, machining, assembly, and testing.
  • Review designs to improve manufacturability and create work instructions.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 documentation and ECO integration into instructions.
  • Develop operation sheets detailing tooling, machines, and inspection requirements.
  • Lead cost-out initiatives and participate in continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing on tools, fixtures, and procurement.
  • Support major build-to-print programs.

Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer supports production by developing efficient processes, implementing automation, and improving workflow across the facility. This role designs and procures tools and fixtures, provides technical support to operators, creates assembly planning, and collaborates with Engineering to integrate design-for-assembly concepts. The position also applies lean principles, investigates root causes of defects, and drives continuous improvement to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare manufacturing cost estimates, including raw materials, purchased parts, machining, inspection, assembly, testing, and support labor.
  • Review design layouts and engineering drawings; recommend modifications to improve manufacturability.
  • Develop and maintain work instructions and process documentation in alignment with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Prepare operation sheets and manufacturing/assembly instructions detailing sequence of operations, tooling, machines, inspection processes, and test requirements.
  • Incorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), advanced ECOs, notices of revision, and approved engineering change proposals into operations and work instructions.
  • Monitor and refine assembly and manufacturing instruction sheets to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Serve as the manufacturing lead supporting Design-to-Cost initiatives.
  • Evaluate material flow, assembly, and testing layouts to recommend facility modifications that improve operational efficiency.
  • Initiate requisitions for tools, fixtures, and equipment; assist Purchasing with specifications and procurement.
  • Develop corrective and preventative action plans as required.
  • Perform duties associated with major build-to-print production programs and small development programs.
  • Prepare estimates-to-complete for assigned programs and support reporting on cost or schedule discrepancies.

Schedule:

The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-10 hour shifts, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on workload demands.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Ability to work in a team environment with strong communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to peak workloads and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Must be a U.S citizen .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems such as ECI MAX, SAP, or Epicor.
  • Proficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and GD&T.
  • Lean certifications (Lean Expert, Green Belt, Black Belt).

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Onsite position with office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing areas.
