Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports and participate in model performance reviews and task forces.
  • Design, procure, implement, and support new model processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Maintain assembly equipment and train staff.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Standardize equipment, programming, fixtures, and documentation.
  • Prepare PIR quotations for new business opportunities and engineering changes.
  • Support NPL activities including vendor selection and tooling procurement.
  • Participate in QRQC/QRSC meetings and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain capacity plans and facility layouts; develop future business plans.
  • Create and update process documentation (TPDs, PFMEAs, flows, etc.).
  • Provide training for supervisors and technicians.
  • Attend tool shop reviews and support equipment modifications.
  • Design returnable packaging solutions to meet customer needs.

About the Position:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join Marelli North America, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. This role is instrumental in supporting manufacturing line operations; leading efforts to troubleshoot equipment and tooling; drive continuous process improvement; and ensure successful implementation of new production launches. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with a variety of teams to optimize efficiency, minimize scrap, and uphold product quality. Additionally, this role includes designing and developing packaging to ensure our finished goods and incoming components arrive on time and free from defects.

Your Responsibilities will be:
  • Prepare reports and attend meetings to support current and new model performance (NPL, VA, PBM, Program Reviews, Task Force).
  • Design, procure, implement, and support new model processes, tooling, and equipment.
  • Maintain assembly equipment and train engineers and maintenance personnel.
  • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions and process improvements.
  • Drive standardization of equipment, programming, fixtures, visual aids, spare parts, and documentation.
  • Prepare PIR quotations for new business opportunities and engineering changes.
  • Support NPL activities, including vendor selection, prototype builds, tooling design, documentation, and equipment procurement.
  • Participate in QRQC/QRSC meetings and execute corrective actions.
  • Maintain capacity plans and facility layouts; develop future business plans.
  • Create and update process documentation, including TPDs, Process Plans, PFMEAs, Process Flows, ETSs, and TADs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide training for supervisors and technicians.
  • Attend tool shop reviews and equipment trials; verify specifications and support equipment modifications.
  • Design returnable packaging solutions to meet customer and business requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications you will bring:
  • High school diploma or GED, with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline and 4–7 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s Degree with 3–6 years of experience.
  • Certification may be required in specific areas.
  • Experience working with integrated computer programs/applications.
  • Strong communication, administrative, and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and programs.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment tests, including drug testing.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
