Job summary

EXALTA Group is seeking a skilled CNC Manufacturing Electro-Mechanical Technician to keep production lines running at peak performance. You will troubleshoot complex machinery, implement preventive maintenance, and document activities in the CMMS. Knowledge of PLCs, servo drives, VFDs, and 480VAC systems is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience maintaining CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience supporting precision machining operations in regulated environments (medical device, aerospace, automotive).
  • NFPA 70E certification preferred.

CNC Manufacturing Electro-Mechanical Technician

The Impact You'll Make

As a Manufacturing Electro-Mechanical Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for keeping our production lines humming. Your work will directly prevent costly downtime, improve efficiency, and ensure our products meet the highest standards. From troubleshooting complex machinery to implementing preventive maintenance programs, you’ll be the backbone of our manufacturing success.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong analytical problem-solving, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills with excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude with an understanding of principles and processes with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical, and technical documentations and drawings.
  • Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting, I/O diagnostics, servos, drives, VFDs, sensors, and switches.
  • Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, and replace bearings, ball screws, linear guideways, tool changers, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, lubrication systems, and coolant systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and training to production and maintenance team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Proficiency in operating various types of hand tools, shop machinery, electrical meters, etc.
  • Hands‑on experience in troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
  • Working experience with voltage systems ranging from 480VAC three‑phase power to low signal voltages of 24VDC. (NFPA 70E Certification Preferred)
  • High attention to detail with a strong safety and quality focus.
  • Perform machine inspections, audits, and facility daily rounds.
  • Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and respond with a sense of urgency.
  • Document all maintenance activities within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for accurate record‑keeping and analysis.
  • Execute preventive maintenance according to established schedules to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify critical spare parts requirements and assist in maintaining an adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ensure that proper hand‑off between shifts is conducted daily/nightly.
  • Able to identify and suggest equipment modifications aimed at improving safety, maximizing up time, and enhancing maintainability.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
  • Participation in change control, equipment validation, and CAPA activities as needed, to maintain compliance and operational integrity.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure comprehensive operational support.

Additionally, it is essential to have an understanding of the following key areas:

  • Adherence to established Standard Work Instructions (SWIs)
  • Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Adherence and compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP)
  • Engagement with the Quality Management System (QMS)
Required and Preferred Education / Experience
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience maintaining CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience supporting precision machining operations in medical device manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Experience maintaining CNC mills, Swiss machining centers, or similar precision manufacturing equipment. (Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls preferred.) is highly desirable.
  • NFPA 70E Certification Preferred.

  • Ability to work from ladders and elevated platforms when required.

Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM Monday-Friday
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
