Whether building bridges, stabilizing shorelines, rehabilitating structures, or providing site engineering and construction solutions for solar, Walbec is your bridge to expertise in construction and engineering.With safety and ethics at the core of everything we do, our experienced professionals are hard at work on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest.**The Position:** The Manufacturing Electrical Supervisor is a hands-on, front-line leader responsible for overseeing electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, subcontractors, and projects that support Walbec Group’s asphalt plants, aggregate processing facilities, and related manufacturing operations. This role serves as the primary field resource for complex electrical issues, coordinates work with plant operations, supports preventive maintenance and control system reliability, and ensures all electrical work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and applicable codes.Success is measured by safe work execution, reliable plant performance, reduced downtime, quality workmanship, effective contractor management, and continuous improvement of Walbec’s manufacturing electrical systems.**Responsibilities** • Lead and supervise electrical subcontractors during maintenance, shutdowns, emergency repairs, and capital improvement projects. • Perform hands-on electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations when required. • Coordinate electrical work with Manufacturing Managers, Plant Managers, and Maintenance personnel to minimize production downtime. • Diagnose and triage complex electrical, instrumentation, PLC, VFD, motor control, and process control issues. • Support all aspects of asphalt and aggregate plant electrical systems, including plant controls and automation. • Develop, improve, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for electrical equipment. • Assist with seasonal plant startups, shutdowns, commissioning, and reliability improvements. • Develop project scopes, obtain contractor support, monitor quality, schedule, safety, and project progress. • Establish and maintain relationships with qualified electrical contractors throughout the operating region. • Verify all contractor work meets company standards, electrical codes, and project specifications before completion. • Support development and maintenance of electrical safety interlocks and critical operating safeguards. • Develop and maintain calibration procedures for plant instrumentation and temperature monitoring devices. • Maintain accurate electrical documentation and support asset management within Equipment 360. • Promote a culture of safety through compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, company policies, and lockout/tagout procedures. • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to plant maintenance personnel while fostering continuous improvement.Decision Making Authority • Direct electrical subcontractor activities. • Prioritize electrical work based on operational needs. • Stop work when unsafe conditions are identified. • Recommend equipment replacements and capital improvements. • Approve electrical repair methods consistent with company standards.Safety • Ensure a safe and ethical work environment. • Provide leadership and be a safety role model by displaying, promoting, and enforcing safe work behaviors. • Work with the Safety Manager, Aggregate Supervisors, field personnel, and subcontractors to ensure OSHA/MSHA compliance and promote a strong safety culture.Performance Expectations • Maintain a safe working environment. • Reduce electrical-related downtime across manufacturing facilities. • Complete projects safely, on schedule, and within budget. • Build strong contractor relationships built on accountability and quality. • Provide dependable technical support during planned outages and emergency breakdowns. • Improve plant electrical reliability and maintenance practices.**Requirements:** • 5 plus years of experience working in Electrical Management within construction or manufacturing environments • Training and certification/licensing in the electrical field with a strong understanding of electricity and the components related to large- and small-scale electrical work • Working knowledge of electrical code guidelines and regulations in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan • Must be a team player • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities as well as consulting, conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills • The ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results • Self-directed and motivated with the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record • Ability to understand mechanical prints, electrical schematics, electrical prints, understand operation manuals and follow step by step instructions. • Mechanical aptitude and ability are preferred. • Knowledge of hydraulics and mechanics is preferred. • VFD and PLC experience is a plus.Preferred: • Master Electrician Certification Preferred • Microsoft Office Suite Proficiency • Auto-Cad Experience Preferred.**The Benefits:** • Competitive
