Job summary

Munters Corporation is seeking a Manufacturing Efficiency Engineer Manager to lead the Manufacturing Engineering team in Daleville, VA. You will drive Lean initiatives, design for manufacturability, and ensure production readiness for new products and changes.

You will collaborate with Design Engineering, R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimize layouts, tooling, and material flow while delivering measurable improvements in cost, quality, and throughput.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing/industrial/mechanical/electrical engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing, engineering, operations, or continuous improvement.
  • 3+ years leading technical teams or manufacturing engineering.
  • Lean Manufacturing, line design, productivity, capacity planning, and process optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional projects across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills for ROI and capital investments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team and manufacturing system owners.
  • Establish and improve production processes, layouts, standard work, staffing, capacity, tooling, and material flow.
  • Protect production takt and schedule performance by identifying constraints and balancing labor.
  • Lead production readiness for new products and changes; ensure materials, tooling, equipment, staffing, and testing are ready.
  • Partner with Design Engineering and R&D on DFM/DFA.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement using 5S, line balancing, Kanban, DMAIC, visual management.
  • Identify and eliminate waste, bottlenecks, rework, downtime, and variation.
  • Develop and evaluate capital and automation projects with ROI and payback analysis.
  • Turn production challenges into sustainable process improvements and corrective actions.
  • Develop and track manufacturing KPIs such as takt attainment and first-pass yield.
  • Support standardization across processes and ensure proper implementation.
  • Champion safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and excellence.
