Job summary

Atkore, based in Harvey, IL, is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Driver for a 3rd shift (11pm-7am), M-F with occasional Saturdays. You will move and store large bundles of steel tube in the manufacturing department, reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of forklift experience and combi-lift know-how, with lean manufacturing exposure considered a plus. You will operate forklifts, scanner devices, and follow inventory procedures daily.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years forklift driving experience.
• Experience with combi-lift (side loader).
• Ability to pass post-offer drug screen.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for an experienced Manufacturing Driver to be based out of Harvey, IL approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. The job will be 3rd shift jobs (11pm-7am ), M-F, occasional Saturdays. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for moving and storing large bundles of steel tube in the manufacturing department.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience driving a Forklift and Combi-lift experience moving large loads. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you’ll do:

• Be proficient with sit down forklift and combi-lift (side loader).
• Transport, store and stack all materials in accordance with proper inventory control procedures.
• Operate a handheld scanner and utilize a variety of printed work instructions as part of daily work assignment.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience in industrial manufacturing.
• Forklift and Combi-lift (side loader) experience.
• Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen.

Within 3 months, you'll:

• Show progress and/or complete job specific training.
• Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations.
• Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
