Divergent is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Technical Training & Documentation Specialist to independently capture, develop, and standardize complex knowledge across Advanced Manufacturing. This role partners with engineers, technicians, programmers, and operations leaders to translate processes into clear, scalable documentation and training.

The Specialist will own documentation projects, identify improvements, and mentor peers, supporting the Advanced Manufacturing Academy with training

Qualifications

• 5+ years in technical writing or manufacturing documentation.
• Experience creating training materials for technical environments.
• Knowledge of SOPs, Work Instructions, and controlled documentation.
• Ability to convert complex information into clear, actionable content.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, operators, and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, edit, and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.
• Translate complex manufacturing processes into clear documentation with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, programmers, and experts to capture knowledge.
• Spend time on the floor observing processes to ensure accurate documents.
• Create training content for the Advanced Manufacturing Academy (modules, exercises, visuals).
• Convert tribal knowledge into standardized, reusable content.
• Identify gaps and drive documentation improvements for clarity and repeatability.
• Establish and improve documentation standards across manufacturing.
• Lead small documentation/training projects from problem to implementation.
• Support new equipment and process introductions with documentation for handoff.
• Maintain revision control and traceability with cross-functional teams.
• Produce visual content (photos, diagrams, videos) to simplify concepts.
• Provide mentorship to peers developing documentation.
