Job summary

KLA in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is seeking an electronics/mechanical assembler to build from schematics and written documentation for KLA products.

You will develop and maintain manufacturing processes, read blueprints, perform rework and quality testing, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure product quality and meeting schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings.
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and metrology tools.
  • Basic soldering skills and handling of hand tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts from written docs and schematics.
  • Develops and maintains manufacturing methods and processes.
  • Coordinate release of new products and estimate tooling needs.
  • Maintain records and reporting systems for manufacturing operations.
  • Perform rework and quality testing on assemblies.
  • Interact with development and manufacturing engineering teams.

Group/Division

The KLA Services team headquartered in Milpitas, CA is our service organization that consists of Service Sales and Marketing, Spares Supply Chain management, Field Operations, Engineering, Product Training, and Technical Support. The KLA Services organization partners with our field teams and customers in all business sectors to maintain the high performance and productivity of our products through a flexible portfolio of services. Our comprehensive services include: proactive management of tools to identify and improve performance; expertise in optics, image processing and motion control with worldwide service engineers, 24/7 technical support teams and knowledge management systems; and an extensive parts network to ensure worldwide availability of parts.

Job Description/Preferred

In this role you will be taking written documentation and schematics on KLA products to assemble and build.

Job Duties, but not limited to:

  • Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, resolves time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
  • Performs a wide variety of electronic or electro-mechanical assembly tasks in support of developmental requirements in pre-production projects.
  • Works from rough schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components.
  • Perform rework and quality testing.
  • Interaction with development and/or manufacturing engineering personnel.

Requirements, but not limited to:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
  • Mechanical proficiency

  • Proven ability to read schematics
  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, etc...
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in related field with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's Degree in related field
