Job summary

ION Storage Systems in Beltsville, MD is hiring a Manufacturing Data Engineer to own data ingestion from production equipment and labs, connect machines to databases, wire Odoo MES and batch records, and design SQL schemas for bronze/silver/gold pipelines that feed dashboards used by engineers and executives.

This hands-on role reports to the CTO and requires practical Linux/Windows scripting, experience with production data pipelines, and a penchant for AI-assisted development.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building and operating production data pipelines and databases.
• Experience at IT/OT boundary collecting data from industrial equipment.
• Scripting fluency in Linux and Windows environments.
• Proven ability to design and optimize SQL schemas and ETL/ELT processes.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development and evaluating AI tools in coding and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Build and own data ingestion from production equipment, lab instruments, and sensors.
• Stand up and integrate Odoo MES with the database layer.
• Design and maintain bronze/silver/gold data transformation layers.
• Build, monitor, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestrations.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to turn floor data into solutions.
• Apply AI thoughtfully to development and analytics.
