The Manufacturing Cost Engineer develops manufacturing cost estimates for new business pursuits, engineering changes, and production programs. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and cost principles is required, including Excel/ERP tools and experience with Infor LN.

The Manufacturing Cost Engineer develops manufacturing cost estimates for new business pursuits, engineering changes, and production programs.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, fabrication, forming, finishing, and mechanical assembly.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, weld symbols, material specifications, and statements of work.
Experience estimating direct labor, material, tooling, outside processing, cycle times, setup times, scrap/yield, and NRE costs.
Experience developing labor standards and cycle times using time studies, MTM, MOST, or similar methods.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for building detailed cost models; experience with ERP systems, preferably Infor LN.
Understanding of FAR/DFARS, government proposal requirements, cost principles, and ideally experience supporting DCAA/DCMA audits or reviews.
Strong ability to analyze estimated vs. actual costs, identify variances, document assumptions, and present estimates to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Aerospace, defense, heavy vehicle, automotive, or other complex manufacturing environments are highly desirable.
Ability to work with ITAR/export-controlled and proprietary technical information.
AS9100/ISO 9001 experience, First Article Inspection (FAI) knowledge, or AACE, SCEA, ASPE, or ICEAA certification.
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
2+ years of experience in manufacturing cost estimating, manufacturing engineering, or industrial engineering, preferably in machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly.
