Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group, Cold Forming & Finishing (CFF) Division, is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to analyze and report production costs, inventory levels, and variances at our Taylor, Michigan facility. The role supports month-end close, BOM updates, and cost data accuracy to improve profitability.

Responsibilities include variance analysis, inventory control, and cost system improvements. CPA preferred; strong Excel and SAP experience required, with collaboration across engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and compare to standard costs.
• Oversee inventory valuation, material flow, and reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile inventory accounts during month-end close; ensure accurate COGS reporting.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to update BOMs, routings, and set standard costs.
• Support cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and GAAP compliance.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve cost accounting systems and procedures.
• Assist with month-end/quarter-end/year-end closings and reporting.
