Job summary

Great Dane is seeking a Cost Accountant to own the general ledger and financial reporting for a designated manufacturing location. You will partner with plant leadership, operations, engineering, and supply chain to ensure accurate product costing, margin analysis, and financial visibility across the business.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong cost accounting principles, and proficiency in JDE and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or public accounting.
• CPA is preferred but not required.
• Strong cost accounting principles knowledge.
• Experience with ERP systems (JDE preferred).
• Advanced Excel proficiency and strong communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities on deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close for assigned plants.
• Prepare financial statements and schedules with commentary on performance.
• Analyze variances versus budget, forecast and prior year.
• Coordinate year-end reporting and support external audits.
• Perform cost accounting and margin analysis; analyze variances.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting; model cost drivers and volume.
• Maintain internal controls; monitor accruals and cut-off procedures.
• Drive reporting accuracy using ERP (JDE) and Excel; leverage PowerBI.
