Job summary

VMC Group is seeking a full-time Cost Accountant in New York, NY. This role involves analyzing material and labor costs, maintaining the cost accounting system, and ensuring inventory accuracy. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at least 6 years of experience in cost accounting within product manufacturing. Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years Cost Accounting experience in product manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Develop standard costs of material, labor, burdens and subcontract.
• Maintain the cost accounting system.
• Provide cost estimating for new and existing products.
• Coordinate or present issues to Engineering for correction.
• Review and report on accuracy of BOM methods, time, operations and notes.
• Prepare inventory reports.
• Research, resolve, prepare and develop journal entries.
• Ensure proper inventory movement procedures are adhered to.
• Participate in monthly and annual closing process including journal entry preparation for the CFO.
• Develop and maintain annual budgets.
