Fabrication Specialist - Project Management

(Previous welding experience required. Note: this is NOT a welding job. The Fabrication Specialist will manage timelines, materials, and work setup to ensure organized and timely completion of tasks).

Location: Honey Brook, PA

Our client is a leading provider of high-quality machining and welding services, committed to precision and excellence. We seek dedicated Fabrication Project Setup Specialists for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

Job Summary

The role involves interpreting technical drawings, planning operations, preparing materials, and setting up projects for machinists and welders. Candidates should be meticulous, proactive, and committed to quality and safety. Ability to work independently and ensure efficient project initiation is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand project scope.
  • Plan fabrication sequences for efficiency and quality.
  • Prepare and organize materials required for projects.
  • Coordinate tooling and equipment setup, assisting with basic verifications.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate setup details.
  • Perform initial quality checks on materials and setups.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Follow safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Support inventory management and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills
  • High school diploma or GED; technical degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years experience in metal fabrication with welding (MIG, TIG).
  • Experience with project setup and production planning.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, weld symbols, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of metals and fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to measure accurately and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and independent working skills.
  • Willingness to work on 2nd or 3rd shift.
Preferred Skills
  • CNC setup or programming experience.
  • Forklift certification.
  • Welding certifications.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing environment with noise, dust, and fumes.
  • Use of PPE required.
