Job summary

RC Talent is seeking a Controller to lead the accounting and finance function for a growing manufacturing site in the Chicago area. This hands-on role requires deep manufacturing accounting knowledge and the ability to partner with site leadership to drive financial decisions.

The successful candidate will own the close, reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls, while developing the accounting team and improving processes within a larger public company framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required.
• MBA, CPA, or public accounting background preferred.
• Manufacturing accounting experience required.
• Strong GAAP, internal controls, close processes, cost accounting, inventory, and cash flow management.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close with accuracy and timeliness.
• Own site financial reporting, forecasts, analysis, and leadership updates.
• Partner with site leadership to provide insight on financial results and risks.
• Lead and develop the accounting team, setting clear expectations on accuracy and process discipline.
• Oversee GL, reconciliations, A/P, A/R, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.
• Strengthen manufacturing accounting processes including inventory, standard costs, and variance review.
• Collaborate with operations to improve inventory accuracy and financial visibility.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis for the site.
