Job summary

SSI Schaefer Group in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, lead a high-performing team, and partner with Operations to drive cost controls and accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring public accounting experience, manufacturing accounting expertise, strong GAAP knowledge, and a collaborative leadership style.

This role requires hands-on involvement in close processes and audits within a dynamic production

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• At least eight years of progressive accounting experience.
• Previous public accounting experience (Big Four or regional) preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing industry accounting and audits.
• Strong knowledge of inventory and cost accounting.
• Advanced GAAP knowledge and ERP familiarity.
• High Excel proficiency and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close to ensure accurate reporting.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and balance sheet analyses.
• Ensure general ledger integrity and reporting processes.
• Coordinate annual external audits and audit documentation.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team to high performance.
