Aston Carter in Troy, MI is seeking a Controller to lead hands-on accounting and financial reporting for a multi-location manufacturing operation. You will partner with the owner to improve processes and guide business decisions, overseeing the close process, budgeting, and financial analysis.

This role requires manufacturing accounting expertise, ERP experience (Made2Manage preferred), and strong leadership with on-site presence and periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 7+ years accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership or Controller role.
• Manufacturing accounting experience with strong cost and inventory knowledge.
• Hands-on close and financial reporting, ERP proficiency, and advanced Excel skills.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel periodically; CPA preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead GL, AP/AR, payroll, cost and inventory accounting, and supervise staff.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close and financial reporting; target one-week close.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and financial analysis across locations.
• Strengthen GAAP compliance, internal controls, and ERP/reporting workflows.
• Develop accounting staff and liaise with CPAs, auditors, and banks; visit plants quarterly.
