Job summary

Sargento, a Wisconsin-based leader in cheese production, invites interns and co-ops to join a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to safety, efficiency and collaborative teamwork. You will gain hands-on experience, influence outcomes, and grow your leadership skills in a real-world setting.

Through mentorship and projects aligned with business objectives, you will learn to analyze data, drive improvements, and contribute to cross-functional teams while exploring potential full-time opportunities

Qualifications

• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, engineering, organizational leadership or related field.
• MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) proficiency expected.
• Strong interest in learning about manufacturing fundamentals and process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Learn to influence individuals and teams safely and efficiently in a manufacturing setting.
• Support DMAIC-based continuous improvement projects in a food manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with Operations to identify performance gaps using data and apply improvement tools to implement solutions.
• Apply leadership techniques to help meet Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People goals.
• Contribute ideas to improve current processes and attend project meetings.

What You Do.

• Learn to influence individuals and teams in a safe and efficient manner within the manufacturing environment
• Support the execution of DMAIC methodology on continuous improvement projects within a food manufacturing environment.
• Collaborate with Operations to identify performance gaps through data analysis and apply continuous improvement tools to develop and implement solutions that drive progress toward defined goals.
• Apply good leadership techniques to achieve or exceed the expected level of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and People related metrics
• Help with ideas to improve current processes
• Attend meetings with Supervisors and Managers to gain understanding of current projects/focuses
• Participate in problem solving to overcome production related problems, materials shortages, equipment malfunctions and unavoidable delays where possible to reduce their impact on operations

Your Education And Qualifications.

• Pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, supply chain, engineering, organizational leadership or other related field, having completed sophomore year prior to the start of internship.
• Proficiency in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Passion for learning and growing in the manufacturing industry
• Solid understanding of the fundamentals of manufacturing
• Ability to multi-task and take initiative
• Strength with strategic and analytical thinking
• Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and vehicle required. There is no mass/public transit system to/from corporate housing location to company locations
