Job summary

G&W Products in Fairfield, OH is seeking a dedicated Buyer to procure materials and services, create and track purchase orders, and build strong supplier relationships to support production.

You will monitor demand, assess supplier quotations, negotiate favorable terms, and collaborate across departments to align procurement with company goals. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems (Plex, Epicor, SAP, etc.).
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
• Maintain thorough records of procurement activities, inventory levels, and histories.
• Review MRP demand signals, production needs, and inventory levels to maintain uninterrupted material flow.
• Identify and source potential new suppliers and evaluate existing ones.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing to maximize value for the organization.
• Coordinate with departments to align procurement with organizational objectives.
• Maintain relationships with suppliers and address issues promptly.
• Procure raw materials such as sheet steel, aluminum, copper, fabricated components, and MRO supplies.
• Assess supplier quotations and services to determine best total cost of ownership.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand demand forecasts and requirements.
• Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and product availability.
• Lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and supplier reliability.
