Job summary

Moog's Space & Defense – Power & Data group in Highland Heights, OH, seeks a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to transform manual production into automated, scalable processes using robotics and internal AI tools.

The role involves leading cross-functional projects across design, software, and IT to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability onsite. Requires 5+ years in automation and ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing automation.
Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
Proven experience in industrial automation and project delivery.
Knowledge of control systems (PLC, HMI, robotics) and IT integration.
Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills.
ISO 9001/AS9100 knowledge is a plus.
Experience in electronics manufacturing or aerospace/defense preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead automation initiatives from concept through commissioning with defined scope and timelines.
Integrate automation equipment with plant networks, MES, ERP, and data systems with IT collaboration.
Coordinate with EH&S to ensure regulatory and safety compliance.
Collaborate with Facilities to confirm infrastructure readiness.
Develop and maintain technical documentation and code libraries.
Provide training and handover to production and process engineering teams.
Monitor projects for performance, risks, and changes.
