Job summary

BioTalent in California is seeking a Manufacturing Associate Upstream to perform cGMP cell culture manufacturing in a multi‑product facility. You will operate bioreactors, manage documentation, and support batch records and SOPs while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities include media preparation, aseptic filling, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. A 4x10 schedule is offered with initial training Monday‑Friday, and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

Job Title: Manufacturing Associate Upstream

Location: Tustin, CA

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday, 7:00am to 6:00pm (4x10 schedule). Initial training is Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm.

Join a passionate team dedicated to developing and manufacturing life-saving biopharmaceuticals. As a Manufacturing Associate Upstream, you will perform multiple aspects of cGMP contract cell culture manufacturing in a multi-product facility. Responsibilities include production, documentation, report writing, material purchasing, equipment scheduling, and ensuring the on-time release of quality products. You will operate and maintain cell culture bioreactors (Wave and 100L-2000L disposable STR/SUB), perform cell culture expansions, operate analytical equipment (NOVA analyzers, pH meters, Vi-Cell cell counter, etc.), conduct harvest operations, maintain cleanroom facilities, and revise Batch Production Records and SOPs. Collaboration with other departments, troubleshooting, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives are key aspects of this role. Additional duties include preparing media and buffer, performing aseptic filling, and participating in audits and investigations.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years of industry experience working with mammalian cell culture
• Associate or Bachelor's degree, preferably in biology or chemistry
