Job summary

Avid Bioservices in Tustin, CA, seeks a Manufacturing Associate Upstream to perform cGMP cell culture manufacturing in a multi‑product facility, including production, documentation, materials handling, and equipment scheduling.

You will monitor and operate wave and 100L–2000L bioreactors, perform aseptic techniques, manage batches per BPRs and SOPs, support 5S and continuous improvement, and collaborate with MSAT, FAC, and validation teams to ensure on‑time, quality product release.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience and/or training.
• 2+ years of industry experience working with mammalian cell culture.
• Bachelor’s or associate degree with biology or chemistry emphasis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily monitoring of equipment.
• Operate and maintain cell culture bioreactors (Wave and 100L–2000L disposable STR/SUB).
• Conduct cell culture expansions and aseptic techniques (thaw cell banks to 15L).</br>
• Operate and maintain equipment including pH meters, CO2 analyzers, Vi-Cell counter, and more.
• Harvest operations including pod filtration and TFF system.
• Schedule vendor service appointments and purchase necessary equipment/materials.
• Support 5S, Area Improvement, and Safety Team initiatives.
• Revise Batch Production Records (BPRs) and SOPs; manage documentation.
• Collaborate with Facilities, MSAT, Validation for issue resolution.
• Assist with technology transfer and periodic investigations.
