Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Summer 2027 Technical Services and Manufacturing Sciences (TSMS) Intern at the Winslow, Maine plant. You will contribute to hands-on projects to improve processes and support operational excellence within the TSMS team.

Eligible students are enrolled in Life Sciences or Engineering programs; internships run May 17–August 6, 2027 and offer a competitive pay of $20-$40/hour, plus housing support and mentorship, with potential for future opportunities at Elanco.

Qualifications

• Education: Currently enrolled in a Life Sciences major or an Engineering major including (but not limited to) Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process.
• Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Understand the Animal Health Manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit
• Work within cross-functional teams to implement processes or lab improvements
• Learn about upstream antigen manufacturing (i.e. fermentation, viral manufacturing), downstream manufacturing ( i.e. lyophilization and blending), quality control, sterility assurance, or vaccine packaging.
• Study design improvement processes

Your Role: Manufacturing Associate Intern – Winslow, Maine (Summer 2027)

As a Summer 2027 Technical Services and Manufacturing Sciences (TSMS) Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the TSMS team at our Winslow, Maine manufacturing plant, contributing to a hands‑on technical project focused on improving processes, solving business challenges, and supporting operational and technical excellence.

Your Responsibilities:

• Understand the Animal Health Manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit
• Work within cross‑functional teams to implement processes or lab improvements
• Learn about upstream antigen manufacturing (i.e. fermentation, viral manufacturing), downstream manufacturing ( i.e. lyophilization and blending), quality control, sterility assurance, or vaccine packaging.
• Study design improvement processes

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Education: Currently enrolled in a Life Sciences major or an Engineering major including (but not limited to) Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process
• Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Prior internship or professional experience in a life-science industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision

Additional Information:

• Travel: 10% - to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing
• Location: Winslow Manufacturing Plant, Winslow, ME
