Job summary

Elanco is seeking a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern for our Elwood, Kansas manufacturing plant. You will join the Engineering team on a hands-on project focused on improving processes, solving business challenges, and supporting operational excellence.

The role requires enrollment in an Engineering major (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process) and comfort with Microsoft Office tools. Travel up to 10% to Indianapolis may be required.

• Education: Currently enrolled in an Engineering major including (but not limited to) Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process.
• Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn.

Your Role: Engineering Intern – Elwood, Kansas (Summer 2027)

As a Summer 2027 Engineering Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Engineering team at our Elwood, Kansas manufacturing plant , contributing to a hands‑on technical project focused on improving processes, solving business challenges, and supporting operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities:

• Understand the manufacturing environment and how to collaborate with different stakeholders to solve problems
• Work within cross‑functional teams to build vendor relationships and new process capability implementation
• Data visualization tool creation/usage and documentation updates

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

• Education : Currently enrolled in an Engineering major including (but not limited to) Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process
• Top Skills : Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

• Prior internship or professional experience in a life‑science industry
• Have an interest in Engineering or Chemistry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Must be able to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision

• Travel: 10% - to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing

$20-$40/hour (dependent upon major and year in school)
