Join to apply for the Manufacturing Associate - I role at Vanguard EMS.

The Manufacturing Associate collaborates directly with the Team Coordinator and department supervisor to ensure surface mount and through-hole solder meet or exceed IPC standards. This position is key to maintaining company quality standards.

Requirements

What you’ll do:

  • Inspect boards produced from hand or machine assembly to ensure all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Perform WIP transactions in Vanguard’s software system to ensure proper traceability.
  • Communicate quality issues to the appropriate team, manager, and engineer as needed.
  • Stop workflow as needed to prevent the manufacture of defective products.
  • Collaborate with the team and foster a positive working environment.
  • Maintain benches, tools, and equipment in good condition.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need

High-level critical thinking, analysis, attention to detail, and communication skills, both oral and written.

Motivation, leadership, team-building skills, problem-solving abilities, and a hands-on mentality.

Ability to use microscopes and manipulate small or fragile components.

Ability to interpret visual aids and detailed drawings.

Effective communication in person, over the phone, email, or in writing.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment operation.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s Degree in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.

J-STD and IPC Certifications.

Experience with SMT, through-hole, wave, or selective solder processes and equipment.

The physical demands include handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 lbs. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
