Job description

Manufacturing Associate

Collaborates directly with the Team Coordinator and department supervisor to ensure surface mount and through-hole solder meet or exceed IPC standards. This position is key to maintaining company quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect boards from hand or machine assembly to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Perform WIP transactions in Vanguard's software system for proper traceability
• Communicate quality issues to relevant team members, managers, and engineers
• Stop workflow when necessary to prevent manufacturing defective products repeatedly
• Foster a positive team environment
• Maintain and ensure tools and equipment are in good condition
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and participate in related projects
• Keep work area clean and organized; perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong critical thinking, analysis, attention to detail, and communication skills (oral and written)
• Motivated with leadership and team-building skills, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to use microscopes and handle small or fragile components for extended periods
• Ability to interpret visual aids and complex drawings to verify product quality
• Effective communication skills in person, via phone, email, or written form
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment operation

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering
• J-STD and IPC Certifications
• Experience with SMT, through-hole, wave, or selective solder processes and equipment
