Position Summary

Based in Canton, MI the Manufacturing Associate - Level C will perform essential job functions associate with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Manger to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. Monday-Friday 6am-2:30pm.

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Manufacturing Associate Technician. Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels:

Level C: Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of manufacturing experience.
  • Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
Level B: Mid-Level: 2 to 3 years of experience in heat treating.
  • Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
Level A: Senior-Level: 3 to 5 years of experience and a deep understanding of heat treating.
  • Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
Essential Job Functions (Duties And Responsibilities)

The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
  • Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
  • This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
  • Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Physical & Mental Demands:
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone
